Who We Are

    Owner

  • John began his career in the Telephone Industry in 1968 with General Telephone Company of the Southeast. While with General Telephone he worked as a Lineman, Cable Splicer, and OSP Construction Supervisor. In 1984 he formed J & P Communications working as a Contract Cable Splicer. For the next eleven years, he worked for various contractors who worked for different telephone companies. In 1995 J & P Communications was incorporated and he began contracting on his own as well as working with other contractors. Effective January 2014, J & P Communications, Inc. became JP Communications, LLC.

    DAVID CANNON

    Project Manager

  • David began working in the communications field in 1974 while serving in the US Navy Reserve. During this time he was assigned to San Diego, CA where he attended "A" School for Interior Communications. In October 1976 he began a career with Horry Telephone, one of the nation's largest telephone co-operatives. While with Horry Telephone David worked as an I & R Tech, Cable Splicer, Engineering Design and Cut Over, and Engineering Supervisor. After more than 35 years with the company, he retired in 2011 as Engineering Manager. J & P Communications hired David in 2012 to supervise a crew of Cable Splicers in rebuilding copper cable for TDS Telecom in southeast Georgia. IPTV over copper was successful which resulted in the start of a second program in 2013 in Farragut, TN.

  • Isaiah Anderson

    Operation Manager

  • Isaiah, the oldest of John’s two grandsons, began working for the company in 2017. While attending Horry-Georgetown Technical College for Electronics Engineering Technology, he started working with JP Communications for Horry Telephone Cooperative as an installer and splicer, helping them kick-start their fiber in the home installations project. In late 2020, JP Communications, LLC began work with Progressive Rural Telephone Co-Op out of Rentz, GA, and Isaiah was brought in to serve as the lead supervisor. After finishing up the project in Georgia, Isaiah returned to Myrtle Beach to help John as his operations manager and work as one of the lead techs for the group doing installs with HTC.

  • Tanner Lasek

    I&R Manager

  • Tanner, the youngest of John’s two grandsons, began working for JP Communications in 2018 while attending Horry Georgetown Technical College for an associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. During this time, he worked as a fiber splicer swapping BPON to GPON units and soon after helped with HTC’s Barefoot area fiber cutover project. His career development thereafter included fiber and coax installations and several fiber to the home multi-dwelling unit projects. In 2024, Tanner was promoted to the position of Installation and Repair Manager.
